Hi, I’m Lois Bansah!
I am a PhD candidate exploring the role of molecular chaperones in cellular degradation using structural biochemistry techniques (you can read more about my research here). While this is my first blog, writing has always been part of my personal and academic journey.
My goal for ‘becomingdrlois’ is to document my reflections and experiences as a Ghanaian woman in STEM navigating graduate school in the United States. It’s a space for stories, lessons, celebrations and memories. Outside of academia, I spend my time making acrylic art, journaling, making recipes I grew up having, nurturing my plants, and unwinding with a good crime show.
Whether you’re a fellow student, someone curious about life in science, or just stopping by, akwaaba. I’m glad you’re here, and I hope you stay.
