Celebrating The Little Wins

As a graduate student (or any student), it’s all too easy to get caught up in the big picture— the working experiments, the published articles, and the ultimate goal of acquiring that desired PhD. We often ignore the little things that pave the way forward. I’ve been making a conscious effort to celebrate the seemingly insignificant “little wins” during the past few months. From mastering a challenging lab method to obtaining favorable comments on a draft, each ‘minor’ accomplishment must be considered as a step toward my greater goal.

So, here’s to the little wins—may we recognize them, celebrate them, and let them propel us forward in our academic adventures. Cheers to progress, no matter how small!

  1. passed my qualifying exams!!!!
  2. won a cute volumetric flask for coming second place in my department’s three minutes thesis.
  3. lots of rest, cycling, flowers and cooking.

Looking forward to an exciting fall semester!
